The Chief Executive Officer of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Dr Joseph Akpaloo has stated emphatically that some pregnant women who attend hospital for delivery without wearing panties to cover their private part pay   additional cost to their bill after delivery because hospital provides  them panties and other needed items.
He charged pregnant women who attend hospital for health care or delivery to take notes that some items like panties, food, drink, blade, etc are not covered by the National Health Insurance(NHIS) as they presume, they pay for it as soon as the hospital provides them.
The CEO confirmed the allegation that maternal care and delivery is no longer   free as it was initiated  sometime ago at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
KATH does not serve as father-Christmas to   give without receiving returns, any resource used for treatment by the hospital is accounted for, he stressed. Appeal was made to the general public that whenever you visit health facility for treatment, you must be fully prepared to avoid disgrace.
