The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Afigya Sekyere East constituency in the Ashanti region,Awudu Salam has predicted that,President John Mahama will win the 2016 general elections easily.
“I can tell you that whether NPP likes it or not, President Mahama will go for a second term and even 2016 polls will be one of the cool chop or easy for NDC led by President Mahama to win”.
Speaking at Garden City radio in Kumasi,a subsidiary of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), the NDC Parliamentary candidate based his assertion the numerous developmental achievements of the Government.
He said NDC was far better in terms of fulfilling electoral promises and noted that, President Mahama has been honest to Ghanaians by indicating that it will not be possible for his government to complete all the 200 Community Day Senior High School projects before the end of his first term in office.
The Afigya Sekyere east NDC PC said his party has done enough and was with the hope that,Ghanaians will renew President Mahama mandate come 7th December, 2016 general elections.
On his part,Dr.Peter Twumasi, Senior Lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Biochemistry Department said President Mahama has now conceded that, he lied to the electorates to get their votes among other promises his government has failed to deliver.
According to him, President Mahama’s logic that, he has used four years to build a foundation therefore needs four more years or second term to build upon it is not a mandatory.

Dr.Twumasi said why couldn’t President Mahama build upon the foundation late President Mills laid when he President Mahama was a Vice President? It a clear indication that, that foundation which President Mahama was the most luckiest vice president for late President John Atta Mills was nothing to write home about. He therefore urged the electorates to vote out President Mahama and the NDC administration and vote for Nana Addo.
