The impending one-month intensive Certificate course in digital satellite, integrated television among other areas under the auspices of the Ministry of Employment & Labour Relations ,National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI),Institute of Business Studies(IBS) in collaboration with Cyberspace Training Institute and award winning Overmars Company Ltd aimed at reducing the unemployment rate in the country.
The organizers
of the Certificate course explained that, the course has been designed for the
youth in the country; especially the unemployed and those already in
Information Communications (ICT) industry and potential ones who desire to
sharpen their skills and acquire a recognized Certificate for employment.
The Chief
Operations Manager of Overmars Multi Satellite Company Ltd, Mr. Hurbert Kyei
Mensah who disclosed this to the Trust Newspaper said, the certificate course
is made up of Basic intermediary, Advance, Digital satellite television
installation, digital terrestrial TV installation, integrated digital TV,
repairs & maintenance. Other courses he mentioned will include assembling,
entrepreneurial skills as well as sales & support services.
The Chief
Operations Manager said the course target group includes technicians with
digital satellite television, integrated digital TV & digital terrestrial
TV installation background, technical graduates: electrical, electronics, IT
etc.
Other target
group encouraged to take opportunity of the one month super intensive
certificate course are technically minded unemployed individuals, Junior and
Senior High School graduates, WAEC remedial students etc. Mr.Mensah said the
training schedule is from Monday-Friday and also available on weekends
(Sandwich, E-learning/distance education). On the basic course fees, he
disclosed that registration forms, residential and non-residential are Ghc
50,Ghc 500 and Ghc 400 respectively. The
vision of NVTI is to provide the best system of employable TVET Skills with the
mission to provide demand-driven employable skills and enhance the income
generating capacities of basic and secondary school leavers, and such other
persons through competency-based apprenticeship, master craftsmanship, clerical
training and career development. The NVTI values are also pursuit of
