The New
Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama constituency within
the Kumasi Metropolis, Hon.Henry Kwabena Kokofu has predicted that, President
John Mahama government can decide to pay the nurses and teacher trainees
allowance weekly they will still vote against him.
According to
him, the NDC government decision in the first place to cancel the allowance has
brought untoward hardships on the trainees and many have had to abandon their
courses because they have no support from any other source.
Speaking at
Hello Fm in Kumasi, the Bantama MP said the affected trainees who are now been
given another promise by the Government to pay the allowance after several mass
actions would definitely punish the government by voting against President
Mahama.
He couldn’t
fathom why non-oil economy under former President Kufour could manage to pay
the nurses and teacher trainees allowance only for President John Mahama‘s
government to come and cancel it.
According hon.
Kokofu, the trainees should not take the NDC government serious over the matter
because as President is promising to restore the allowance his Vice is also
saying that any attempt to restore the allowance will dislocation the
government budget.
“Confusion
galore and now where are they going to get the money from after telling the
whole world that, NPP cannot keep to the promise of restoring the allowance
because they (NPP Government) will not get funds for it”.
The Bantama MP
who lost his seat during the Party’s Parliamentary primaries to Wofa Atta
called on all Ghanaians, especially the youth to show President Mahama the exit
come 7th December,2016.
