EVEN A MAD MAN WILL NOT GIVE GHC 10,000 TO EC OFFICIALS FOR VERIFICATION-NPP COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR .

The Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director, Dr.Kwasi Kyei has entreated the supporters and sympathizers of the party, especially and all right thinking Ghanaians to treat the allegations leveled against the Vice flagbearer of NPP, Dr.Mahamud Bawumia for breaching electoral laws and bribing Electoral Commission’s official with an amount of Ten Thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 10,000.00) with the necessary contempt it deserves.

According to him, even a mad man wouldn’t gave Ten Thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 10,000.00) thus 100 million old cedis to Electoral Commission’s (EC) officials as a bribe to verify his or name and not to talk about Dr.Bawumia who is internationally acclaimed Economist .Don’t NPP knows how to disburse money or resource and to waste GHC 10,000 to what NDC officials in their confusion state want Ghanaians to believe that, Dr.Bawumia verified his name in the recent EC’s voter exhibition exercise in his house and that he bribed the two EC officials with such an amount!

The Ashanti NPP Communications Director was commenting on the Electoral Commission’s own investigations which has cleared Dr.Mahumud Bawumia of verifying his name at his house and bribing two workers of the Commission as alleged by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) which made an official complaint against Dr.Bawumia.

On why Dr.Bawumia has not commented on the issues since it came out and after EC’s findings, Dr.Kwasi Kyei told the Otec Fm, a local based radio station in Kumasi news that, they would not allow Dr.Bawumia to engage people like Koku Anyidoho and others who don’t know anything.”Some of us are well capable of dealing with NDC Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho and those who think like him. I am daring him to drag Dr.Bawumia to court as he has been making noise of .No wonder his own boss, Johnson Aseidu Nketia aka General Mosquito said “any idiot can go to court”.The NPP Communications Director has therefore asked the NDC leadership to come out publicly and render an unqualified apology to Dr.Bawumia.He assured the rank and file of the NPP that, Dr. Bawumia will never engage in any acts that are contrary to the laws of the land or thwart the efforts of NPP to unseat the “incompetent Mahama led Government come 7^th December,2016 general elections.

As a backgrounder;the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, has commenced investigations into reports that the running mate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, broke electoral laws in the just-ended voters’ register exhibition exercise. The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), which made the claims against Dr. Bawumia, alleged that he induced two electoral officers in Walewale in the Upper West Region, with a sum of GHc 10, 000, to bring verification materials to his residence to verify him. The two EC officials identified as Jobe Ambrose and Mumuni Latifa were subsequently relieved of their duties by the EC, even before a full investigation was carried out into the claims. The NDC proceeded to lodge a complaint with the Walewale District Police to investigate the matter.
