Ghana experienced a partial eclipse of the sun on November 3, 2013.
A total eclipse of the sun, however, occurred from 8.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m across the country on Wednesday, March 29, 2006.

Ghana will on Thursday, September 1, experience another partial eclipse of the sun from 6:13am to 9am.

The moon’s image will pass off the sun’s face at about 7:20am. This will take about an hour and a half.
Partial Solar Eclipses happen when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth, but they don't align in a perfectly straight line.
The Moon will therefore partially cover the Sun's disc.
Motorists have therefore been advised that at 7:20am, they may have to switch on their hazard or packing light for a minute or two during the darkened sky.
The general public has also been advised to please watch the moon and sun with solar shade to protect their eyes from the negative effects of the rays.
