ELECTIONS RIGGING IS POSSIBLE –NDC PC FOR AFFIGYA SEKYERE EAST DECLARES.

Contrarily to the Electoral Commission (EC’s) Chairperson, Mrs. Charlotte Osei’s ,assertion that it’s impossible for her to rig elections for President Mahama come 2016 general elections, Mr.Awudu Salim, the governing NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Affigya Sekyere East,says it is possible to rig the elections.

The NDC PC who is specialist in Information Communication Technology (ICT) and a former Assembly member for the Afigya Sekyere South said,”yes it is possible for elections to be rigged because the figures of candidate ‘A’ can be swaped for candidate “B’ if polling agents and other officials’ compromise.

But he was quick to explain that, rigging of elections is always possible at the polling station level but Mrs. Charlotte Osei as the Chairperson for the Electoral Commission as she indicated can’t rig the elections in Accra because she announces what will come to her”, he added.

Mr.Awudu Salim who is very optimistic of winning the Afigya Sekyere East seat for his party was asked to comment on Mrs.Charlotte Osei’s comment that it’s impossible for her to rig the elections for Mahama at Garden City Radio in Kumasi, a subsidiary of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) dubbed “MPANIN ANYHIA” a political talk show hosted by Kwame Obeng Sarkodie aka Marcus the Ultimate.

As a backgrounder to the story, Paul Adom Otchere: “Your critics say you are planning to rig the election for President Mahama. What do you say to them? Charlotte Osei: It is just not possible under the system,” she said on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, Thursday.“For Charlotte Osei to [rig elections], she has to get the support and active involvement of her six co-commissioners, her 10 regional directors, the 200-plus District Electoral Officers, the 275 Returning Officers and their two assistants.“Then when you get to the polling stations, for this year’s elections, Charlotte Osei, has to let all these people decide to tow one line. You are likely to have over 500,000 Agents for candidates per party and two Counting Agents per party at the Collation Centres. All these people must actively be working and changing the documents for Charlotte Osei to rig the elections.

“So I need to convince 500,000-plus people to skew the system in favour of one person. I haven’t figured out how to do that yet and it is not even a part of my value system that I will do that. Basically, it is impossible.”
