The founder and leader of United Front Parry (UFP) Dr. Nana
Agyenim Boateng popularly known as Gyataba, with an exclusive interview with
openghana.com have disclosed the reasons why he and members of United Front
Party endorses President John Dramani Mahama of the ruling party, the New
Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Dr. Agyenim
Boateng, after the UFP was disqualified by the electoral commission of Ghana
from the upcoming December 2016 presidential election, the party however
decided to support a qualified presidential candidate whiles they still support
their parliamentary candidate in the various constituencies. According the
founder the UFP is a social Democrats and therefore have weighed the leadership
of both flag bearers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), under
president John Dramani Mahama and the largest opposition party the New
Patriotic Party (NPP) under Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, while the leadership
of under president Mahama is worthy of emulation, but that of the NPP under
Akuffo-Addo is painted with disdain but rather acrimony.Furthermore he said the
NPP was United under the formal President John Agyekum Kuffour however, under
the Akuffo-Addo leadership, particularly in the build up to the 2016 election,
the NPP has been on the battle front with disunited armies, especially in the
case of Paul A. Afoko, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong and sammy crabbe who have been
suspended till today as National Chairman, General Secretary and second Vice
chairman of the NPP. Therefore the UFP cannot declare support for NPP that does
not ride on the shoulders of unity. More so, having taken cognizance of the
developmental projects in the country of the ruling NDC especially in the area
of infrastructure, health, education, security and also studied both manifestos
of the NPP and NDC the UFP have seen NDC to be more attractive sister political
party to partner with and therefore declare their unflinching support for
president John Dramani Mahama and his ruling NDC. However the party
prepares for the next election in 2020.Meanwhile, Dr.Agyenim Boateng has
rubbished the claims that, he has taken Ghc2.5 Million and 12 4/4 Picks from
President Mahama and NDC before declaring support. He insisted that, because of
the unprecedented achievements of NDC
Government under President Mahama, they will win 7th December polls,
one-touch.
