FALLOUT FROM NDC’S DEFEAT: PRESSURE ON ASHANTI NDC LEADERSHIP TO RESIGN ELSE…



Information reaching your authoritative the New Trust Newspaper had it that, pressure is on the Ashanti regional leadership of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Mr.Yao Owusu Obimpeh to resign from their positions before the aggrieved party youth marched to lock all offices over their failure to ensure President John Mahama/NDC victory after several assurance of winning over one million votes from the region.
The aggrieved party supporters who claimed anonymity commended the sitting President who has conceded defeat to the President –elect, for doing his part for the NDC’s victory in the just ended general elections but put the blame on his appointees and leadership of the party for their arrogance, neglect and other corruption acts that, led to their abysmal performance in the 2016 polls.
The Ashanti Regional Campaign Coordinator for NDC who doubles as the Deputy Regional Minister,Mr.Andy Osei Okrah among others were also not spared from the threat from the aggrieved youth of NDC.
This paper has gathered that their angry emanated from the excessive noise of the Regional Executives some of which they accused only hid behind their positions to enrich themselves at the expense of the party. Some of them also remarks “Ghanaians have spoken and we respect their decision. We congratulate Nana Addo as President elect of the Republic of Ghana.
They also want Nana Addo and the leadership of the NPP party to advise their followers to celebrate their victory in moderation and desist from attacking NDC members or vandalizing their properties which could potentially destabilize the nation after the elections. They called on the security agencies to ensure that the peace that, Ghanaians continue to enjoy after the polls should be maintained.

A number of the aggrieved NDC supporters however, called on the rank and file to take a step back and re-group for 2020 because Ghanaians want them to take a break and come back soon.
