Ampong who sounded very emotional on ATV’s Angels Corner program on Saturday disclosed he has still not received
Ghc1 out of the over GHȻ340,000 proceeds they made from the launch. Speaking to the host, Ama Serwaa Boateng,he said Lumba have still refused to render accounts or give him any share of the raised sum.
Popular Adventist singer and song writer, Great Ampong, couldn’t hide his pain over his co-collaborator Daddy Lumba’s attitude over proceeds from their ‘Hosanna’ album launch in November 2015 at the Glorious Waves International Church which the High-life artist has kept all to himself after the launch.
“Lumba have told me personally that if he spend even Ghc1 of my money God should kill him. But has since that encounter
not render any account to me or given me my share of the raised sum. We made GHȻ200,000 in cash at the launch and
made GHȻ140,000 from the over twenty thousand copies of CDs sold.
So sit at your homes and calculate for yourselves. And I still don’t know if he’s bring my share today or tomorrow” Ampong revealed.
Ampong alleged that just before the launch was concluded Lumba instructed Atinka FM’s Roman Father to buy a
‘Ghana Must Go’ bag which he brought and stashed the realised funds and drive away with it.
He said budget for the launch will not even cost them GHȻ4000 which Lumba did not contribute anything but will
not budge to give him his share of the proceeds. “I wrote all the songs and directed the arrangements in the studio.
I went ahead to personally invite all personalities and dignitaries to the launch. He did nothing yet won’t render accounts
or give me any share of the raised sum. There’s a lot I don’t want to disclose because of the pain in me. If I should I think I will go off” he said.
