With barely
three months to the December 7th ,2016 general elections, the main
position NPP should prepare well to accept another big defeat by President John
Mahama .
The Municipal
Chief Executive (MCE) for Offinso Municipality, hon.Haruna Yusif who gave the
prediction at Hello FM, a local based radio in Kumasi, said NPP will be shocked
in the outcome of the forthcoming polls because they have nothing new to offer
to Ghanaians.
The MCE said
that NPP will fall flat in the December polls because any attempt to use
electricity crisis popularly known as “dumsor”, graduates unemployment among
other issues to campaign, will not work.
Commenting on
the finding by Centre for Democratic Governance (CDD’s) report that,7 out of 10
Ghanaians believe the country is heading in the wrong direction ,the Offinso
MCE said since the country’s independence no government including former
President J.J.Rawlings, J.A.Kufour had done well with in the area of health,
education and general economic well being of the people than the incumbent
President John Dramani Mahama.
According to the
CDD, survey, at least 70 percent of Ghanaians believed the country is heading
in the wrong direction, a study has revealed. The survey, which was conducted
by CDD-Ghana and covered the period of July 2 to 18, painted the
disillusionment of Ghanaians regarding the overall management of the economy. The
survey was conducted from a sample size of 2,400 adult Ghanaians across 163
districts and 291 towns and villages.
However, the Offinso
MCE feels that, the CDD report would not have any effects on President Mahama
and NDC’s chance of retaining power. He said even in the Ashanti Region which is seen as
political strong hold of the NPP, the NDC will surprise the NPP because of
massive infrastructure development across the country will translate into
voting for the ruling government.
The NDC man said
his party was the most organized political party in the country and they were
leaving no stone unturned to ensure a second term for President Mahama come
December,7th,2016 general elections.
On his part,
hon.Simons Osei Mensah, the incumbent MP for Bosomtwe constituency said NDC
government was the walking contradiction because it was President Mahama who
told Ghanaians that NPP boasting of development was mediocre but now he
(president Mahama) and leading members of the NDC have make u-turn to talk
about the development projects for Ghanaians to base on in renewing NDC Government’s
mandate. According to him, the ruling government was currently borrowing to pay
its debt because of the poor economy.
Hon.Simons
Mensah was hopeful that, Ghanaians will reject NDC government to enable Nana
Addo to help improve the living conditions of the people
