A convener of the group Owula Mangortey said they are hopeful President Mahama will evoke article 72 of the constitution when continuous pressure is mounted .
Pressure has been mounting on President Mahama to exercise his prerogative powers of mercy to get the Montie trio released from jail.
“We are seeking and expecting immediately a presidential pardon for the three. We will not and cannot accept this despicable abuse of power by the judiciary at this important stage of our democratic experience.”
Mangortey who is also a traditionalist from Shai-Osudoku said they expect “to see and will see Mugabe, Ako Gunn and Alistair walking the streets of Accra within the next few days.”
Some NDC sympathisers have vowed not to vote for the governing party if they do not get the three men released.
